Change Your Perspectives.  Secure Your Future Today.

Throughout our lives we have gained various insights that affect our business decisions and influence our lives. We have been programmed according to the practices and beliefs that we have gained through the years of experience. However, have we taken the time to look back where we started? At some point, there must be some things that we have missed out. At some point, we might have lost track of our strategy. Over time, we might have changed our strategy for the worst…in turn we lose valuable income in the process.

The changes needed are normally small and it seldom takes a major change on the way you do business to turn things around. Although how small it will have significant effects that will grow bigger later on.

So, how do we gain back what we’ve lost?

Here are things you need to check immediately if you are in the red…

  •         You need to track back and rediscover if your volume sold, built and collected is sufficient for the number of employees in your business. This is a big one since anything lacking or too much will contribute to inefficiency and wasting precious resources.
  •         Update your To Do list at least every month. This will make your goals in line with what you have achieved already. It is up to you to check these items regularly so that you are always on target.
  •         Remember your passion and drive to your business and make sure you get involved in it. You should be accountable with your employees and their work as well as the direction they will take towards their goal.
  •         Take your time to check your current business status. Do not rush because this might lead to pitfalls later on. Take a full six weeks or more to study your business. You will better understand where it is heading and you can direct it where you want it to go.
  •         Get an expert coach to help you. If you are losing profit you might consider talking to someone who can help you not just gain what you lost but also take things to the next level.

Are there Shortcuts to being seen as an Expert?

being-an-expert

I have interviewed experts and spent time with people who are seen as being skilled and knowledgeable. But despite wanting to believe there are shortcuts, the answers are pretty obvious and you might probably known as well: being seen as an expert takes dedication, focus and hard work.

But is there really no shortcuts?

The good news is being seen as an expert is just as easy as changing an everyday habit. Because of this you can expect the search of making progress towards our goals in the business will be easier and quicker.

Instead of searching for shortcuts you can apply these best practices on becoming an expert.

· Realize being an expert is a relative term – for the most part you do not need to be an absolute expert in the field to benefit from being ranked as an expert. By virtue of your training, knowledge experience and skill you already would have expertise in an area. If you think you are 3 out of 10 on the scale of being an expert that is considered expert enough for people who are in the twos and ones. Remember that being an expert enough to accomplish your goals, however modest or grand they may be is good enough.

· Learn from books and experience – There is a balance between learning and doing which you need to have both. As an example if you are a bodybuilder, you obviously know what to do. However if you are going to be seen as an expert you must be able to teach someone inspire someone else

· Focus – This is critical since it helps you pay attention to the task at hand and by doing so you can also eliminate distractions along the way. You can follow these simple steps:
o Start small
o Do only one thing at a time
o Always be present and enjoy the moment
o Show your gratitude on every step you take

· Make mistakes – failure might be your biggest opponent but it also makes you learn new things. You need to be ready to make mistakes to make you grow. An example would be to practice what have you learned. The sooner you get comfortable in making mistakes you can quickly get to learn new things.

· Get outside help – You may struggle to be seen as an expert on your own. Get help from someone who has years of expertise helping other experts position themselves and dominate the market place with their expertise.. You can also consult on someone knowledgeable who can help you assess your performance from the outside. With this you will quickly and easily find the answers as to how you can improve.
